Book A Garden Tour

Discover more about the gardens from a member of the team who tends them, on a daily 60-minute guided tour at 2pm. Nurtured over the last 200 years by a succession of green-fingered experts, learn about the history and inspirations behind centuries of English garden design and how today’s team are building on the bones of the past. Tours take in all major garden areas, including the Parabola, Colour Gardens, Kitchen Garden, Cascades, Cottage Garden and Wildflower Meadow, focusing on how each area is managed and the work undertaken within it.

From April 13-May 17 our daily tours will spotlight our blossom trees while they are in flower. If you haven't joined one of our tours before now, book on and enjoy this annual, but brief seasonal spectacle.

Book now to secure a spot on the day of your visit. Please note, a valid Newt membership is required to book a complimentary garden tour.

Book A Bee Safari

Book a Deer Park Tour

Taking place at 3pm every Monday, Thursday & Friday, our Deer Park tour explores a large stretch of rewilded land above the formal gardens. This haven is home to two types of deer; Britain’s native red deer, and fallow deer, which were introduced by the Romans. Depending on the time of year you may spot majestic stags with antlers proudly on display, pretty does, or even tiny fawns.

This tour is free for Newt members, and lasts roughly 45 minutes.

Book an Estate Tour

Taking place at 1pm every Monday, Thursday & Friday, our Estate Tour whisks you from the gardens through the orchards and across to Avalon Farm – the engine room of the estate.

Avalon is a bustling production hub, home to our Bakery, Butchery, and hydroponics and growing tunnels. As you’re driven across the estate, you’ll learn about the history of Hadspen, the evolution of the estate, and the myths and folklore of the surrounding areas.

This tour is free for Newt members, and lasts roughly 45 minutes.

A Garden for All Seasons

Influenced by thousands of years of horticultural history, take a stroll through acres of formal gardens and perhaps learn something along the way. We share the land with a host of wildlife; you may spot native deer promenading in the woods or Great Crested newts bathing in the ponds.
